First Blog Post: Your House Sucks!

Hey there homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, and curious minds! Welcome to the first blog post written by me, Inspector Stephen! I’m going to be giving this some love every now and again with various home topics, tidbits, home inspection stories, and whatever else I come up with. I’m not sure the name will stick, but for now, we’ll call it Your House Sucks!

Let's kick things off with a warm introduction. I'm Inspector Stephen, and I've spent years exploring the nooks and crannies of houses here in the Tulsa area since 2019. From creepy crawl spaces to cozy bedrooms, there's nothing about a home that I haven't poked, prodded, and scrutinized.

Now, you might be wondering, "Why should I care about home inspections?" Well, my friends, the answer is simple: there is not a home in this country that doesn’t have something a home inspector is likely to call out. Even a brand spanking new home could have dozens of write ups. So if you have or will purchase real estate in the future, know that there is always something to fix, to maintain, or to monitor, and hopefully I’ll provide insight as to how to do just that.

In the upcoming posts, we're going to dive deep into the heart of your home. We'll chat about the essentials – like the importance of a solid foundation and the types you can expect to rely on, the ins and outs of electrical systems (cue the "shocking" puns), and the mysteries behind plumbing and how everything is managed and maintained. Also expect a sprinkling in of some fun anecdotes, shared home improvement hacks, and maybe even explore the world of weird and wonderful home designs. After all, who wouldn't want a secret passage behind a bookshelf or a bedroom with a toilet in it?

So, whether you're a seasoned homeowner, a first-time buyer, or just someone who enjoys a good read about houses, this blog is for you. Together, we'll demystify the world of home inspections and maintenance, tackle common issues, and maybe even uncover a few hidden gems along the way.

Stay tuned for more adventures in home inspection – because every house has a story to tell, and I'm here to spill the beans. Until next time, happy home hunting! 🏡✨
